Project Description

Project Brief

Ashington is a award winning, friendly village in West Sussex. There are about 1,100 houses and a of around 2,500 in an area of nearly 2,000 acres with a great pub, some superb restaurants, and plenty of local businesses. The village newsletter had been printed monthly by hand and painstakingly hand delivered to every property.

The Challenge

The village needed a website that could be edited by several contributors at the same time whilst allowing members of the community and club organisers to add their own content and diary entries to keep everyone up to date, via the website and social media. At the same time an automated weekly email was needed to keep everyone informed of the latest entries.

The Solution

We created a WordPress website for the village, settling on a number of premium plugins that allowed easy front end submission of articles, reviews, Swap Shop items, events and details of local clubs and businesses. We then copied all of the old content and emails back to the very beginning to give a searchable history.
